Enjoy the sound of rain, but not the thunderous claps of thunder. It puts me at a vulnerable state where I've to be wary of when's the next one and shut my ears right when the thunder strikes. One second slower and my ear drums & faint heart would have to suffer. Never like subjecting myself to a state of fear & vulnerability, especially when it's beyond my control. I can't summon for thunders to go away, all I can do is to safeguard my ears. They say 'Destroy what destroys you". If so, can someone teach me a trick or so on how to destroy the sounds of thunder? Make it into a 'Book for Thunders Dummies' that I can comprehend easily.

Time is a ticking bomb, the enemy of everyone. It's daunting to see how fast age is catching up on my parents. They've always been my motivation to strive better in life so that I'm able to let them enjoy the next halves of their lives. But sometimes, all these pound on my heart like a predator pounding on its prey, leaving me breathless. No, I don't view them as burdens, just responsibilities that I ponder about too much, especially when I know time is catching up. Anxious. Fearful. Knowing that I can't do things for them for as long as I wish to just makes me want to be able to provide for them as soon as possible.
But life requires me to take one step at a time. I don't mind, as long as every step that I take, I've the both of them right by my side. But, who can guarantee the term 'forever'? No one. That explains my fear & distress.
How do we know what we know is true? Possible that all these are just assumptions we conjured up & in order for us not to appear as naive/dumb, we believe in these made up assumptions. Like how do you what is love? How do you know if this dress looks nice on you? How do you know... blah blah blah. Just because someone says so or just because you believe?
Senseless post, but I'm just tired of trying to make sense. Because deep down, I just wanna screw all the rules®ulations, T&Cs, to-dos & don'ts. I just wanna take a leap of faith & drown in my own world of fantasies. But yet, here I am, tied down by burdens, worries, expectations and most importantly, the fear of uncertainty.
I don't think I'm afraid of death, I'm just afraid of
Iosing the people I love,
losing the things I have,
not getting the chance to experience everything I haven't had the chance to,
