Doses of surprises still spring at my doorstep every now and then. They aren't the ones you'll label as glamorous but only superficial beings would go after that cause all you need is money to buy that sort of glamor. Whereas down to earth and simple surprises are those that bear the most significant meaning in my heart despite the 'low maintenance' factor. Killing two birds with one stone, why not?

Anyway, Redbull planned for a secret dinner date last Friday, just for me. How dear, I must say. Remembering my casual comment of wanting to try Pepperoni Pizzeria. Making the effort to call up the restaurant to make a reservation knowing the crowd.

Yes, small gestures but don't tell me these aren't the gestures that make it through cause I bet they are the only gestures that matter in the long run. Idc whether a guy is all lovey dovey, splurges all his time, effort & money on me, showers me with endless mushy convo all day all night, IN THE BEGINNING. I don't wish for a relationship which goes through the extravagant 'honeymoon' period only to find the other half disappearing together with the initial 'glamor' he once showered upon me.

The relationship & companionship I've wished for, I have it now, because of him. Sturdy, committed, full of nonsensical inner jokes, yet not lacking the passion and surprises.

"All we knead is love"
Doughs of love

Starter is the deep fried giant portobello mushroom with chicken and the red wine sauce!

I ONLY have thin-crust pizza.

Hybrid pizza. Salmon and ham+egg.
Pasta/pizza, I'll spam the cheese powder for sure.

Only one of their pastas is cream base which is the classic carbonara which I like but wanted to try something different so I chose venus clams in white wine sauce fusilli. The garlic taste is too strong for Redbull's liking but garlic lovers like me should like it as much as I did.
 A satisfied night. like always.
Thank you for You.
A sisters day out on Wednesday to celebrate my siz's last day at work. *pops champagne*
Since we had a few hours to spare before dinner time, a visit to Teo Heng was a great idea.

Why Teo Heng?
For those hardcore Kbox fans, time for betrayal! Though there're only 3 Teo Heng outlets, in terms of price, Teo Heng is a way wiser choice if you're keen to save your wallet. Moreover, the sound quality is comparable to Kbox and their songs are relatively updated.

Initially, we thought since it was only the both of us, we wouldn't have to go for the usual 3 hours, so we opted for 2 hours instead. BUT, towards the end, we realized we thought too lowly of our singing stamina. We ended up singing the first few lines of the last ~6-7 songs so we could run through every single song.

Suggestion by siz to dine at 49 seats (there are exactly 49 seats thus the name).
Unique interior.

L OO K at the wallpaper! Would be a waste to not make full use of it as your background shot.
Anyway, I thought those are trees until I saw the fishes.

Only food I wanted to try was this -
TOM YUM SEAFOOD PASTA!
Price: $14.90
Signature dish & highly raved after.

Best recommended to people who love tom yum and creamy base pasta! Don't fret if you're thinking that this would taste like a typical bowl of laksa, it doesn't.
Even me, an ex-lover of tom yum found my love for tom yum being rekindled. I used to love tom yum very much until I suffered from a serious food poisoning at Phuket. Everyone who had that tom yum soup suffered the same fate as me so it definitely wasn't because my stomach couldn't take street food cause I've always love street food since I was at a tender age. That incident was so vividly gross I could taste the vomit in my mouth every time I try tom yum soups.

Popcorn chicken
Price: $.8.90
A portion that's too huge for just 2 person.

Evil brownie with vanilla ice-cream to end the night.
Price: $8.90

Remember,
Family never leaves you
even if you thought otherwise.
No doubt you're the only one who can make this sisterhood perfect.
Saturday

A small & bustling city, yeah, that's downright the city I'm living in. Along with the quicken pace of people around me everywhere I go, I find myself trying to catch up with this fast-paced life reluctantly. Guess that in the midst of all these conforming or competing, whatever reason it may be, the hope of being able to eat without worrying about the queue in line, walk without worrying about running late will always surface from beneath the thin lying earth which is dusted with everyone's hurried footsteps and the ever developing multi-storey man-made landscape. A justifiable reason for our wants of a getaway.

Or in my case, a short journey to somewhere where I feel closer to my inner-self, a quieter place with no one's fast moving footsteps to disturb my thoughts.

Horses, my favorite land creature.

Some deep conversation going on here.

A filling breakfast at Riders' Cafe. A letdown for mecas there's some slight changes to the menu from the previous time we came. They no longer have the egg benedict with soft-shell crab, it's just crab meat instead.

I'm going to take on horse-riding classes in the future. Someday I will, even if I'm old, so long as I'm still robust.

We went back to Turf City for early dinner at Pasarbella with my favorite company.

A farmers' market concept, somewhat similar to Marche, except Pasarbella's interior is way more attractive and they have stalls selling furnitures, homemade sauces, etc.

The live seafood section! .

The cheesy room

Pasta with crab meat! Never sick of crabbbbbs!

Roasted chicken which was a total rip-off. One whole chicken for $34? That's the price of a dozen fresh live oysters which we had too! But on the bright side, the tender meat goes well ith the 4 different sauces.

Redbull had Paella and we agreed Marche's paella is better.

Oysters that were still alive when served on plate.

Desserts!!!!
This huge nutella cake which is twice the size of a standard slice only costs $8! Rich yet not too sweet. I swear moving through the desserts stalls was a torture for me as I wanted to lay my mouth on every dessert that I saw.

Good O day spent

I may be a cave woman & I only came to realize it last Friday when I met up with my gfs for brunch.

I've never had or seen 'stuffed' pasta. I love eating pasta, though having one serving of it never fails to be extremely filling. Imagine pasta alone is already filling enough, let alone one that is stuffed with ingredients. I had the pasta that is stuffed with mushrooms. Honestly speaking, I was already full while I was halfway through the portion.

I love the ambience of the dining places at Rochester Mall. Laid back & somehow away from the usual crowd & noise. I don't know, perhaps it was the timing when we went, hence the tranquility.

No matter how people proclaim they're too full to even have a sip of water, they're never too full for desserts. This is one thing we can't deny. Of course we went for our desserts; at 1-caramel. Prefer the fragrant lychee-rose cake over the maltesser cheesecake.

A mere 3 hours meetup in exchange for genuine & worthy conversations. A toast to this crazy yet true friendship.
