Sorrow vs Love

Saturday, Redbull accompanied me for my second cervarix injection whose purpose is to prevent cervical cancer. Read more about it here. My second injection was almost painless, just like the first time. But the aching pain that followed afterwards never fails to get in the way of my daily life for a couple of days; it's like my left arm is paralyzed.

The sun had been merciless on us during the weekends & Redbull decided to cool our bodies down by getting 2 tubs of B&Js, both flavors being my favorite.

Needless to say, he gave me this ice-cream scoop freebie too which I left it at his house!

Saturday night ended in a mess. Unfortunately, it wasn't a beautiful mess , it was the direct opposite. Tears shed uncontrollably without the presence of him anywhere near me, sleepless night spent trembling with tears & tossing around on the empty bed, thoughts running wild through my active yet tired mind & hours spent on rehearsing the talk I was going to have with him on the next day. Glad all had ended on a peaceful note. But peace isn't only what I'm yearning for, I'm yearning to see the changes that will appear in the near future due to mutual understanding and endless embracing of our commitments together.

Sunday was spent with my family; with my parents & I sitting comfortably on the sofa  watching the charity show that was airing live whilst chatting from topic to topic randomly. I may have other commitments like relationship, work & study, but I never neglected my family, the ones who I hold the dearest & closest to my heart & soul.  Meaningful cliché like this will never stop spreading across generations; "Blood is thicker than water".
What I was in my previous lifetime (yes, I do believe in reincarnation) doesn't matter to me now, what does matter is my future lifetimes, where I wish to be born into & blessed with this same family.

After collecting my IC on Monday morning, we headed for our long awaited dim sum brunch at Royal China. We were planning to head down on Saturday but when I called to make a reservation on the day itself, I was told that reservations were fully booked for the weekend dim sum brunch. We arrived 10 minutes earlier than the stipulated time which was 12 noon, only to realise that the doors weren't open to receive any customers yet.

We made ourself comfortable on 2 nearby couches, with him scrolling through my Instagram & me enjoying the serenity of Raffles Hotel.

Tiffany&Co's color was the theme for the restaurant.

Century egg & pork porridge which was salivating delicious. I don't normally eat porridge at all because its watery texture turns me off. But this, I can never get enough of its fragrance!

Har Gao seems like the staple dish for all dim sum lovers.

Look at how crystal thin the skin is & how huge the fresh prawns are!

Redbull, who doesn't eat char siew bao, loves these pimping hot buns.

The only dim sum that isn't worth a big hoo haa is their siew mai; it tastes ordinary.

One of our top 2 favorites - chee cheong fan! Redbull thinking that the portion of  the chee cheong fan will be small, ordered 2 plates of this, which we obviously couldn't finish all of it.

Second favorite is their signature Salted egg & mango custard bun! We had 2 portions of this!!! The moment when the hot & thick custard oozed out once we took our first bite was heaven.

This plate of fried yam fritters was our last order which is a delight too. The fillings comprise of juicy mushrooms, chickens and of course yam!

The bill came up to around $64, which was definitely not a price too steep at all, given for the quality & quantity of their dim sum. The shocking part of the bill was the price of a can of coke which was $6! How can a can of coke be more expensive than the dim sum which average price is around $4.50?! The amount of sugar used in the coke is more expensive than the big fresh succlent prawns, etc? Aside from this, for sure we're coming back here again!

Roamed around Raffles City Mall in search of the Hakubi Gel that I've searching for since days ago. All the walking came to no avail too. We caught The Hunger Games at Shaw in the afternoon, putting Redbull's free movie tickets to good use indeed. It is a great movie but I felt that all the swarming reviews heard & seen recently were a tad too overrated. A good movie it was, but not overwhelmingly fabulous. Later on, I learnt from my brother that there will be season 2 & 3 of it.
