Like me, Redbull isn't a person who raves after a glamorous birthday celebration with hundreds of guests, bottles of champagnes/liquors. But since it's his 21st this year, his parents wanted him to hold a small celebration.

I researched for a few caterers for buffets but in the end, Redbull decided to settle for the one he has sourced himself. Customizing of cake was settled by me. Under the scorching hot sun, I went to an ulu place that's near Redhill to collect the 3kg cake and I met the funniest taxi uncle ever!

Balloons were blown and thanks to the help of Redbull's sister, they were tied as well. I've never know how to tie a balloon though I'm quite fast in blowing the deflated balloon. Well, at least I'm good at one of it, unlike Redbull. BOO! We went down to the function room at 4PM to liven up the place a little by tying the balloons and colorful ribbons.

The buffet arrived at 5+ and was all set up before 6PM. Quick and efficient of De Calla.

Laid on the tables are
1. Braised ee mian with mushrooms
2. Butter cereal prawns
3. Curry pork ribs
4. Luo hao zai
5. Thai styled mango chicken
6. Steamed fish
6. Spring rolls and salad you tiao
7. Dessert - Honeydew sago
8. Drink - Fruit punch
No complaints for all the food because they are by far the nicest buffet I have had (I mean this kind of buffets, not those restaurants' buffets) except for the honeydew sago which sago doesn't taste like sago. Ew~

He was really shy to stand infront of the cake, in the middle of the crowd. So adorable~

Sadly, the cake doesn't taste as nice to most of them as it tastes to Redbull & I. I guess red velvet flavor really isn't a safe flavor to choose because it's either you love it or you hate it. Good thing is the birthday boy loves it. Your smile is all that matters. 

After the buffet ended, the party has just started! Balloon bursting game suggested by WingYin! All of us really had a good time laughing! First to be busted out was Qinbao. Last 3 man standing were Alvin,  Ahboon and, I forgot who was the other one. 

So glad to say that the celebration was a successful one, with no hiccups here and there. It was a chance for all Redbull's families and relatives to gather around. I love festive season and celebrations because these moments bring families together and kinship is what matters most to me.
