Meaningful conversation with gf M early in the morning. I believe people do feel more sentimental the moment they wake up and the moment they are about to sleep.
Among our nonsensical conversations, M said how she feels that sometimes some people are merely in love with the idea of being in an unrequited love. This I couldn't agree more. Because when one is being in an unrequited love relationship, one plays the perfect scenes repeatedly in the head. So perfect it's almost untrue. Just like how we always fall in love with fairytales, isn't it? But once you step both foot in to a reciprocated love relationship, the shape of reality starts to form before your eyes. That's when both parties start to feel really naked emotionally as their flaws & imperfections lay right before each other's eyes. Suddenly, the perfect him/her & the perfect relationship you've been picturing in your head aren't as perfect anymore.
2 possible outcomes:
1. Gradually, one starts to lose interest and would rather just be in love with the idea of being in an unrequited relationship.
2. Embrace the imperfections & flaws while still being in love with the lifetime partner.
Sidenote: At the end of the day, our relationship falls in the second category.
