I'm glad to say this is one of the best Lunar new years I've had in so many years mainly because my favorite younger cousin whom we haven't seen in years was here to spend his CNY with us. We've all been very close since our childhood days and it was a pain for us to be separated for years due to his parents' broken down marriage. The last time I saw his face was when he was barely reaching my shoulder and now he's taller than I am. If not being told beforehand that he was  there at my grandma's house, I wouldn't have recognized his face that has changed so much over the years. But it was such a comfort to discover all the familiar traits in him I've came to know since he was young. The words he speak and the silly actions he still do even when he's all grown up warmed my heart. Maybe we weren't separated like I thought we were. By time and distance yes, but hearts and memories remain intact and deeply attached.

The gambling den.

All gathered around for the midnight fireworks display.

The two treasures of the Kok family.

My siz & I were amused by something someone said thus the unprepared-for-a-shot faces.
Anyway, this is the uncle who resembles my dad the most (except my uncle has gained a fair bit of weight recently) that even my dad himself mistook my uncle as him.

Daddy's girls.

Family shot.

Look at my hyper dad.
And the very 'tall' uncle.

The cousins whom my siblings and I have grown up with.

Incomplete attendance.

My first jiao zi!

And I was lucky enough to have eaten the one with a coin wrapped in it. The Horse year may well be my year!

An abrupt end but all that I wanna say has been said in the beginning. I'm blessed and I can't ask for anything more except for happiness and health to be with my cherished love ones.

Time flies and there's nothing we can do to stop it. The only thing that's in our control is to live the life we want happily without any regret. This year's lunar new year is one of the most memorable ones because I get to see my favorite cousin whom I haven't seen in years. He has grown so much over the years I couldn't recognize him at first sight.

Missing the quality time spent together with all of them. They always remind me of my carefree childhood days. I've to stop now before I get too emotional.
Ever since I was young, Msia is where I celebrate CNY with my family and relatives. As a child, there were more fun moments because littlest thing like candies perk me up easily. As I grew up, those fancy little things that I've enjoyed don't seem to appeal to me as much anymore. A sad fact to know how external factors (monetary issues, facing realities, etc) have changed me internally. But one thing that never changes is family. Though the young ones have grown and the elderlys have aged, we still cherish this opportunity to gather together.

CNY celebration in Msia is never quite like Sg, with the latter being more serene in comparison. In Msia, the fireworks displays alone 'kill' every peaceful corner that exists. I love fireworks because they have this ability to catch everyone's attention and create a magnificent view that brightens up the dull dark skies. I wish I was a firework, minus away its short life-span.
Pictures taken during the 4 days I was in Msia.

The 2 poodles.

Here we were on our way to Song City to sing our hearts out!

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
May all the bad moments remain in the past while endless good moments await for all of us in the future.
