My weekends were so packed I even had to set alarms on both days, something I don't usually do because I wish for my weekends to be less hectic. Moreover, it's sufficient to be setting alarms on 5 out of 7 days in a week right? Last weekend was packed with meaningful activities and I didn't have sufficient sleep on both Fri & Sat nights. The waking up early part was a feat, it was the sleeping late the night before part that made me really grouchy for not having ample beauty sleep.

Anyway, Redbull, shell & I accompanied wy for her monthly medical check-up and her bb is 14 weeks old which means WE CAN KNOW THE GENDER! A bb BOY! Now we can buy gender specific things.

Indescribable emotions the moment this appeared on the flat screen. This was my first time seeing a new life that has yet to be brought to earth. Every thing so fragile, precious and amazing contained in this little new life. I was left bewildered seeing how big this little bb is despite how wy's weight has been dropping since her pregnancy. You continue growing healthily, little bb. But at the same time, try to spare your mummy as little agony as possible. Be healthy, both you precious darlings.

The rare day wy's appetite grew.
We had lunch at Saveur. Disappointed at the basmati rice with chicken roulade. The rice was watery and less rich. Their rice was one of my favs. The seabass, duck confit & pistachio dessert maintained the standard though I'm kinda sick of Saveur for the time being. The downside of having it too frequently.

Right after Saveur, we Q up for Sushi Bar at fep while shell went for her waxing which is just opposite. By the time she was done, it was our turn. Yes, the Q is always long. But we were rewarded with food that was worthy of the Q.

Had 2 plates of this salmon aburi. Am gonna try the soft shell crab salmon aburi the next time.

Their sirloin steak is a must try!

Sunday was healthy trekking day at Bukit Timah Hill with the couple who was late. Redbull & I went ahead with the trekking by ourselves and halfway through, they called to say they were on their way so we took the same route back to the main road.

A productive weekend. More of such weekends.
Time waits for no man, indeed. We've all been ushered into 2014 with or without our wills. Some may wish to remain in 2013, others may wish otherwise, the rest may be nonchalant about the beginning of a new year.

Me? To be truthful, I've been dealing with the battle of mixed emotions whirling within. I'll be getting my LLB in a few months time which signifies an official step into the working society. As much as I'm anticipating this adulthood, there's a part of me that remains fearful of all the great changes. I'm no mulan, I'm not a brave warrior like her. But I choose to believe that this world do have a wonderful place for me so long as I fight to shew that I deserve it. Always be optimistic instead of pessimistic & we shall all see the difference it does to our lives.

Final dinner in 2013 at a Jap restaurant we had never been which didn't fail us.

His 2 must order in a Jap restaurant.
Chawanmushi

Salmon sashimi.

My Mentaiko pasto with cod roe and bacon/

Fried squid and octopus with the ever fattening mayo.

Countdown party (more of dinner?) at RWS.

To the people whom have stayed with me & to those whom I will meet in the future, peace.
Our first time trying Japanese Hotpot last Saturday. But relatively, all hotpots are the same, aren't they? The dishes and soup bases don't vary from heaven to earth.

$10 salmon slices which was average as compared to the one we had at Sakuraya Fish Mart; cheap and fresh!

Anyway, we had the wagyu loin set which includes the vegs plus an additional plate of ala carte pork slices. The meat are thinly sliced and undeniably fresh, yet the snow dome soup which we chose ruined the dining experience as it is too bland for our liking (and we paid $3 each pax for the soup base). For hot pot, soup base is considered one of the important criterion, at least to me. So ya, this overall shabu shabu experience wasn't appealing which might have been different if we chose other soup bases(?). Oh, except for 2-3 tables of locals, we were surrounded by japanese so I guess it shows that their hot pot is quite good, just that we chose the wrong soup base that night.

One point worth commending was the good service provided by their friendly japanese waiters.

My 2 best ladies always bring out the best in me: the me who is best in laughing and behaving hysterically. With them, I'm no one else but myself. Not having to worry about upsetting them with my blatant views or not living up to the expectations they have of me cause they expect nothing but my genuine heart. So carefree I feel like a bird except without a pair of feathery wings.
No boundaries, no limitations. That's why best friends provide the BEST companionship whenever I'm in need of an emotional therapy.

Relationships have letdowns, heartaches and things/words we can't do/say. Families are a real comfort zone which will never abandon you even at the most dire straits but for me, there's an inevitable feeling of having to live up to expectations so as to not them down in any way.
For me, true friendship has none of those emotional baggages/barriers. Absolutely nothing but happiness ringing at the back of my head when I'm in their hands.

The amount each of us paid for a Saturday meal at Sushi Tei was very reasonable given the variety of fresh and delicious dishes we ordered (except for WY who has an amazing small appetite).

My main: Akashi Cheese Pasta.

Janice's Main: Omelette with noodles which she described as hokkien mee, of course the yummy version.

The pregnant fish: Ms. Shishamo

Mango Cod Roe Sushi

Salmon Sushi with the generous layer of salmon melting in our mouths instantly.

Spontaneity got the best of me when I suggested a walk from JEM back home. No, it wasn't as bad as it sounds and actually, it wasn't bad at all. It felt nothing like the longest walkathon, not when we had endless conversations lighting up all the dark neighbourhoods that we passed by. (ps: the walk from Jurong East to Boon Lay took less than an hour despite our deliberately slow walking pace) Dropped by WY's house for the 6 Tinkerjoys she bought for Janice and so we found ourselves munching on chocolate at 12AM in hope of getting the Tinkerbell toy. Despite not getting the main lead, the night has served us well with food and laughters.

It was last week when I clearly realized that I do practice what I've always preached to my girlfriends: that we can be truly happy despite feeling/being alone. I no longer depend on anyone for happiness because that's a risk too big to take. People can bring additional happiness into my life, but the foundation of happiness is what I've laid it down by myself so if any of these people leaves, I don't find myself looking like a pathetic fool struggling to search for happiness all over again.

School has commenced and boy I must say that the 4 months holiday has indeed gotten too comfortable hence the lazy bones are here for me to conquer yet again. This is what holidays do to us every single time, isn't it? Getting all intimate with us and when we're all delicately comfortable, *poof* pushes us back to the arms of reality.

Now that studies are back on track again, it simply means juggling between that, work and spending time with my love ones. Time? Never sufficient for all the things we wanna do, the people we wanna love, the dreams we wanna achieve.

Well, pic of the day above features my Sat noon with Redbull & his campmates and of course, lotsa incessant orders of jap food.

Here's a toast to the final year of my LLB.
I bookmarked quite a list of eating places that I'm intending to try out. Yes, Sg is just a tiny red dot, but there're many delightful surprises around the corners if we know exactly where to venture to. This time round, my siz & I went to Duxton Hill, Flor Patisserie, a cafe which is known for its Japanese pastries & frozen cheese-tarts.

Flor Patisserie is a warm & snuggly cafe which also means it's very petite, only able to accommodate that few modest tables of customers.
Their popular Napoleon was sold out by the time we went, which was around 2pm. Either we were really too late or its Napoleon is really that popular.

These 2 cakes that we had are delicious, but they aren't as unique as we had expected them to be. Guess we were too immersed in our intense imagination of how unique desserts could be. Come to think of it, tasty desserts are satisfying enough, why on earth were we so greedy to be expecting more, right?
 Humans humans *shakes head*

Not a strawberry fan, but these are big & juicy.

As the frozen cheese-tart can only stay unrefrigerated for an hour, my siz bought it for Heroine only after we've finished walking the streets of Chinatown. While roaming, we were surrounded by Thais and their soothing and gentle accents.

Just last Saturday, had my siz to be my companion for the Night Festival.

The alley beside the Peranakan Museum.

Peranakan Museum, the place where we stayed the longest given the fact that it was our first time there and the Peranakan in us were captivated by all the exquisite details on every single object being displayed.

Look at all these pouches & purses! How to contain all the gaspings & exclamations of "Oh my God!"? We couldn't and we didn't!

GIVE US THESE KEBAYAS! NOW!

After leaving the Peranakan Museum in awe, we continued the trailing and found our way to Art Museum. Though it didn't captivate us like the Peranakan Museum did, we had our fair share of fun moments.

At the open field of Fort Canning where the skies appeared too gloomy.

Everyone gathered around to witness the performance of our local illusionists. Apparently, that performance was averred to break the world's record. Think it was the height of 75 feet or something along that line. Just a tinge of breathlessness which lasted only for a brief moment, nonetheless, a live performance like this is memorable indeed.

When you find the clock ticking by too fast, you'll realize that's because of the company.
