Our first time trying Japanese Hotpot last Saturday. But relatively, all hotpots are the same, aren't they? The dishes and soup bases don't vary from heaven to earth.

$10 salmon slices which was average as compared to the one we had at Sakuraya Fish Mart; cheap and fresh!
Anyway, we had the wagyu loin set which includes the vegs plus an additional plate of ala carte pork slices. The meat are thinly sliced and undeniably fresh, yet the snow dome soup which we chose ruined the dining experience as it is too bland for our liking (and we paid $3 each pax for the soup base). For hot pot, soup base is considered one of the important criterion, at least to me. So ya, this overall shabu shabu experience wasn't appealing which might have been different if we chose other soup bases(?). Oh, except for 2-3 tables of locals, we were surrounded by japanese so I guess it shows that their hot pot is quite good, just that we chose the wrong soup base that night.
One point worth commending was the good service provided by their friendly japanese waiters.
