Saturday: caught this 3 hours long movie at midnight with Redbull.

Yet again, vapour of doubts began to form. Those doubts that have always been creeping together at the back of my mind were wounded up by the scenes in the movie.

How many would not waiver one bit in front of such temptations? Fame, wealth, sex, lust, drugs. Few, if I dare to assume.

The movie portrays to me how one man will not stop at being satisfied despite having a drop dead gorgeous wife waiting for him at home, the same woman who had him lusting over her appearance at the first sight.

I wonder how many self-claimed righteous men actually can withstand the temptation of having women throwing themselves into his arms. Not just any woman but those kind of women he has fantasized about, those women whose curves will blur his ability to think straight. Saying and claiming you can resist is easy, but doing it?

Nah.

I'm not pessimistic with regards to this, just hopeless, cause there's basically nothing to hope for.
The momentum of constantly going on food hunting trips has decreased, sadly. But last week, the predators are unleashed, finally. Almost missed our stop if not for Redbull's sharp observation skills as Hungrygowhere's credibility failed us for the first time. I always relied on hgw for addresses & it stated that Saveur is at Purvis St but turns out it is right outside fep

Expected the Q especially when a dining place specifically mentions it doesn't take in reservations.

But technology saved the day: we skipped the boredom of staying in the Q as they rang us up while we were window shopping at fep once our table was ready for our possession.

Saveur's Pasta
Nothing to rave about as this tastes like ordinary dry maggie mee which is nice but doesn't taste like pasta at all despite looking like one.

The next 3 mains we ordered were impressive. Delicious & very affordable plate-licking dishes.
Duck's Confit
Not a big fan of mashed potato but this was the exception. The duck was well marinated.

I couldn't decide which was my favorite. Duck confit or this. The creamy basmati rice made a non-supporter of rice like me went bonkers. I'm definitely going to order an extra side dish of basmati rice the next time we go.

Pan-seared seabass
The challenge in using any other method aside from steaming to cook any fish is to retain the moisture within. This challenge seemed to be a feat to the chefs at Saveur.

Wanted to try the Choc & Hazelnut but it was oos (it must be really good) so we opted for Pistachio Panna Cotta which was uniquely delighting. The pistachio flavored dessert reminded me of the pistachio cupcake my siz baked which was equally satisfying for me.

We caught About Time at Shaw and it left the sentimental us tearing. I was still crying when I left the theater & this bully just loves to make it worse by narrating the sad scene to me knowing that I'd cry yet asking me to hush then repeated the scene again.

It left me thinking, if I was the one born with the ability to travel back to the past, what would I choose? To hold on to the everlasting chances to relive all the moments spent with my dad or bid goodbye to him for the last time in exchange for the creation of my own child? A real dilemma I'll never find an answer to.
Who doesn't love the weekends except those who also have to work around the clock even on the 2 precious weekends?

Last Friday which was also our nation's 48th birthday, Redbull & I bought tickets for The Conjuring! When we first saw the trailer on the big screen, our reactions were complete opposites.

Me: "AHH, I MUST WATCH THIS! It seems like there is finally a worthy horror movie for me to watch!"
image

Him: "I will never watch this."

Me: "Huh. Ok lo, I will find someone else, probably my siblings to watch it with me."

Yea, watching it with either my siz/bro/both was my initial plan but my siz is going to watch it with her ex-co and my bro is a stay-at-home-bro (on those days where we finally managed to convince him to go out with us, I'd always have this urge to buy 4D/TOTO cause a miracle has just occurred right before my eyes)

IN THE END,
Redbull knowing I was dying to watch it, accompanied me. And no, I didn't hint/ask him, he was the one who suggested it out of the blue. Though he kept insisting he wanted to watch it too, I knew all he wanted was to accompany me.
The Conjuring was such a let-down, NOT!
It tops my favorite horror movie! Not to mention the fact that it was based on actual events (though there are some parts which were exaggerated for the sake of scaring the shit outta audiences).
Undeniably I've always believed in the presence of roaming souls of people who've ceased to live, but knowing that there are souls which are filled with so much hatred definitely brought our fears of the unknown to a whole new level.

Saturday

Redbull was craving for sashimi.
Side note: Ever since I encouraged (aka psycho-ed) Redbull to try sashimi, he has fallen in love with it just like I do and he will have sudden cravings for it. Till now, he hasn't expressed his gratitude to me, the lady who gave him a taste of raw heaven.
Searched and found just the place for fresh sashimi -
Fish Mart Sakuraya

Sunday

A pre-birthday lunch celebration for Redbull at The King Louis. I first read about this restaurant on sixpegs and first thought was
"I'm definitely going to try out their famous large platters myself someday."

But Redbull & I didn't get to try their platters as the peeps who patronized The King Louis on Thursday said unless the both of us were really famished, otherwise DO NOT try it as their portions are humongous. So we didn't and I ordered this half back-ribs instead. Couldn't finish the generous portion of fries, let alone the ribs and it was then I truly believe how overly generous they are with their platters.

Seafood. Scallops & mussels. Love the snow white creamy sauce.

A weekend filled with love,
and food.

The night when I gave Redbull his early surprise birthday gift - Trevase watch.
Who doesn't love surprises right?

With his new watch wrapped around his wrist, we headed to Marche for dinner and had their pasta for the first time which could taste perfect if the pasta was cooked al dente
The stir fried mushroom couldn't taste any better because mushrooms can never go wrong. NEVER.

While waiting to catch Grown Ups.
Look! Admiring his watch again.

Don't you find it contradicting how parents who are supposedly grown ups start to blabber all the baby talks to their precious child? I'm guilty of that too. Speaking in the 'cute' & 'adorable' manner to babies, how silly do we appear in the babies' eyes? Imagine if babies could speak language that we're able to decipher. They'd probably be thinking with a smirk face,
"Oh no, stop trying to speak like I do cause you aren't even close."

When we become parents of our own children one day, I wonder what unforgettable memories are going to be etched into our hearts.
Good Friday, as the name suggests, was a good day indeed. After the dip in the pool, we went for our dinner at Dian Xiao Er where my favorite duck is. We booked tickets for G.I Joe which was 2 hours away after we finished our dinner so we roamed around the mall and spent the rest of the waiting time at the arcade.

DWAYNE JOHNSON! Been mesmerized by him since I was in secondary school. I even stayed up late to watch WWF just because of him and you know staying up late at that age and generation was a real big deal? Well, at least it was a big deal for me. He was the reason why I collected those WWF cards too!

Ok fan girl mode switched off. G.I Joe Retaliation is an awesome action movie with all the strategic fightings involved!

Saturday
Initially, we planned to head to Moojaa for my thai BBQ craving BUT there was a 3 hour mass at 8PM so of course the dinner plan couldn't go according to plan. Well, the dinner plan was well substituted with the long anticipated trip to Carpenter & Cook.

I tried the highly raved & tempting passion fruit tart which was close to perfection.

And lucky us got our hands on the last sliced of caramel walnut cheesecake!

Redbull's warm & moist chocolate muffin.

Their interior fittings are what I'd love to have in our future house! Unique and rustic. Given the proximity of this cafe, we're finding ourselves coming back here pretty often.

Later on at night at the church where I was frozen hence we sat outside the church most of the time and I proudly declared I'm the survival of the long 3 hour mass. *SALUTE*

On Sunday, we gathered at his grandparents' house for an Easter celebration.

|| Every day, you bring my past understanding of Love to a whole new level ||
Last Friday, Janice & I went for a "secret mission". Thereafter, we had our dinner settled at Popeyes before heading to twelve cupcakes in all high hopes of trying the flavor of the day, which was 'Baileys Chocolate'.

"Baileys chocolate is sold out."

Ahhhhh, those 5 words I didn't wanna hear. Well, I settled for the second best, which was whatever remaining flavors displayed through the glass. Cupcakes are best eaten fresh, it sure wouldn't taste as good if you kept them in the fridge.

Got to Redbull's house, took a hour power nap before driving out for our midnight movie - Beautiful Creatures. It is the Best movie of 2013 (thus far) for me!

After watching this movie, I realized perhaps there's another side of me who has a thing for geeky & honest romantic who has a contagious & funny laughter, just like the male lead.

Pictures gotten from Google

Saturday; I joined Redbull & his camp mates for dinner at Manbo Galbiri. Took a few wrong turns before arriving & upon arriving, we still needed to wait for a table for 7 when we were already being tortured by the serious hunger pangs. At least it was torturous for me. Anyway, first time trying the kimchi pancake which was good. The steamed egg I've had at Chijmes tastes better. Meat wise, well marinated, I love the beef especially.

After the dinner, Redbull & I caught a midnight movie at jcube, the Chinese Zodiac which was undeniably worth watching. Normally during midnight shows, I would close my eyes here & there for a little while cause I'm not a nocturnal person. But throughout the entire movie, my eyes were wide opened. Not to mention Jackie chan starring in it. I've always taken my hats off to him for being one of the very few actors who insists on using no stuntman for every single shot. *round of applause*

How I would never, for one second, get bored of his presence, of how we compliment each other so perfectly well. I mean, who would ever get bored of love?
