Happy Lunar Festival

There are many things we fought so hard with our mind to forget yet we can't.
Like how we lost some one dear to us.
Like our hatred for our enemy.
Like how we flunk the test that we've mugged for.
Like the sick strange darkness that comes creeping on so haunting every time we feel too emotional under the blankets.
Like how we missed a precious opportunity just because it was disguised as piles of work & effort.

But, there are even more things that have slipped off our minds that should always be etched onto our hearts.
Like family are the only ones who wouldn't ever leave us in the lurch, scrapping up the biscuit crumbs in that empty tin.
Like we don't need to have some one perfect to make us beam with happiness, we just need that some one who is worthy of our love.
Like sometimes, we should take a step back and reflect on what we've done & said.
Like we shouldn't forget to spend time with our loved ones.
Like, we shouldn't neglect the essence of festive seasons.

HAPPY LUNAR FESTIVAL EVERYONE!
As a kid, I've always enjoyed indulging in the festive atmosphere, playing with my siblings and cousins. But gradually, everyone grows up and begins to embark on their own path, so much so that we seldom see each other faces anymore. I still miss those times, real bad.

But that doesn't mean I can't cherish what I have before me now. My family, Redbull & true friends here in Singapore. Lanterns and moon-cakes are the significant must-haves today. Redbull, who has never failed to be the sweetest night lover, accompanied me down to the park to relish the child in me.

His first attempt to get my lantern ready just for me failed, with the lantern being burnt to ashes on the cemented floor. Second attempt by me succeeded!

In this complicated world, my happiness originates from the simplest gestures of my loved ones, or purely just engaging in simple conversations with them.  With our hands interlocked while strolling in the park, it dawned on me, for the umpteenth time that, the space between my fingers will only yearn to be filled by his.

I recalled vividly that my grandmother told me there’s a tactic for walking on this. Relying on my understanding of her explanation then, my clumsy feet were telling me that I should stop overestimating my capabilities.

All of a sudden, the generous grey skies started rewarding us with big fat crystals which take the form of droplets.  These candles lit by Redbull were glowing strong, even while the rain was getting heavier, though it didn’t manage to last till the end.

Strawberry and orange flavored moon-cakes that were brought to us by my mummy who joined us 15 minutes later.

As long as they're happy, I am happy.
