I love basking in the joyous birthday atmosphere which was why I enjoyed my Sunday with Redbull & his family.

Over at grandma's house. "Hey Alvin, look! This is the Old Chang Kee's buffet. No wonder we saw the Old Chang Kee's van downstairs." He replied nonchalantly, "No! Don't anyhow leh you." "Really! Look at the uncle's uniform!"
Won hands down!

I prefer all the homecooked food that was prepared during their family gatherings compared to buffets. Not that the buffet wasn't nice, just that personally, I love homecooked food which has a taste that can't be found elsewhere.

Grandma was lecturing her grandson whom she dotes on most about gambling. Heart wrenching sight to see how she still has to worry about Alvin given her old age & health condition. But Alvin is already changing now, & we hope it's not too late. She kept on saying, without a tinge of strong emotions attached to her tone, that her days on earth are decreasing, that it brought tears to my eyes. One, because she reminds me of my own grandma & two, the way she speaks of death with such nonchalence scares me. Redbull kept assuring her that at least she has to witness our wedding.

The little grandchildren gathered around to put the candles on the cake.

When the candles were lit, grandma was nowhere near the cake, instead, she was in the kitchen. As Redbull shouted jokingly, "Ya, lighted all the candles already but ah ma isn't even here yet!", he walked to the kitchen & wheel grandma out.

Children's innocent & bubbly inner selves never fail to light up the darkness in any adults' world. Looking at them, we remember how when we were young, we were once braver than what we are now. We were not afraid of being judged even if we cry infront of everyone, we were not afraid of talking to people whom we just met, fearing that they would hurt us in whatsoever ways. We were fearless then, doing things just the way that we wanted.

Yummy chocolate cake, I had 2 slices of it. I love fresh cream despite how fattening it is. Fluffly white fresh cream~~~

Andrew came running back to Redbull because Redbull was shedding crocodile tears when Andrew refused to take a picture together with him. So cute!
