Saturday's Picnic Craze

Saturday was my second time having a picnic, minus all the past mini picnics I used to have with my siblings & cousins at my grandmother's house where we all sat comfortably on the mat laid on the grass. Then there was the first time I had a picnic with Redbull at Botanical Gardens where our little own world was intruded by cockroaches & ants!

I wonder if it's just me or does everyone feel the same, that buying of groceries for picnic & BBQ is the most enjoyable part! Walking in between the rows of neatly categorized shelves is as good as adventuring in a food maze. When the rest finally reached, Ben & I were only left with drinks to buy. Late King & Queens!

Off we go to Sentosa~~~

My right shoulder was being tortured miserably by the weight of my bag that day. Thank God Shrek was there to help me carry it. & yeah, he was carrying 2 ladies' bags.

Except for Lance & Shrek who had their lunch right before they came, the rest of us were like hungry ghosts. Right after finding a good spot to lay our table cloths that disguised as picnic mats, we started gobbling down the finger food prepared & a box of 20pcs nuggets that Ben insisted of buying. He really lives up to the name of chicken lover.

We couldn't possibly be doing nothing throughout the entire picnic except for eating, so Monopoly Deal was put into good use. Personally, I'd crown Monopoly Deal as the best card game ever, except if Monopoly Deal 2 comes along~

Except for me, the rest of them haven't played it before! How could they possibly miss out such a fun game?! I realized explaining any game isn't my forte at all & they weren't helping by being such an easily distracted audience! But they got the hang of the game pretty fast once hands-on started. Shrek was even teaching Lance how to play because she seemed like the slowest to understand the game fully.

Well, throughout every rounds of the game, we all lost to this guy here, including me despite my 'senority'. So disgraceful.

Done with finger food & of course how could we forget the snacks? A pity Vivo's Giant doesn't sell Yam Yam. This was what I couldn't lay my finger on; Giant doesn't sell Yam Yam? Does our taste bud function better when we're younger? Because Ben & Lance found the Spicy Curry Chips bland, while Kailee & I thought otherwise.

Night fell & to make the night looked even more gorgeous, we decided to add beauty to the surroundings by playing with firecrackers. Kailee's childhood dream was being realized - selling firecrackers by the sea.

Lance's ATTEMPT in creating a heart shape. A lilttle distorted hence I stressed on the word attempt.

Must Ben be the winner of both day & night?! Forget about the numerous wins in Monopoly Deal, he even had to make a really lovely heart shaped on his first try when all I got was this! Argh!

If this was put to writing, it'd definitely be labelled as illegible scribbling. I was trying to make an 'A'.

Explanation right from the start. We were all trying to bury Ben's feet & see if he could pull out of the piling sand with just a single jump. While we were busy burying his feet, Shrek disappeared.  I caught sight of him a few minutes later & upon closer look, he was pratically digging a very deep hole with just the aid of his right foot. Ridiculously funny but true, that action of his resembled that of a dog's. No offence but it really did look like that!

Shrek asked me to stand in that deep hole where its depth is the length from my soles to my calves . Inspired by MJ's signature 45degrees move, they asked me to do the same.  I was really struggling because of the fear that my face would land flat on the sand.

Lance looked like like she was trying to grab my boobs but no, she was trying to hold me in case I fall.

Finally, the most decent & convincing picture! The stiff expression on my face clearly spoke for my constant worrying if I would fall down flat on my face, with the sand filling up my mouth.

Cheerios to my best attempt of MJ's 45degrees slant.

This champagne that Ben claimed it tastes great tastes exactly like Calsberg, the taste which I detest most. I passed my cup to Shrek after the first sip! Eww!
My feet earned themselves a couple of itchy insect bites. Except for this, the picnic with them was undeniably a joy. Now, we're planning for a BBQ next month.
