IKOI, finally!

Ever since I saw Tammy blogged about her visit to Ikoi, I've been dying to try because I'm a fan of Japanese food, not to mention the fresh sashimi! On Tuesday, Redbull decided to satisfy my long time craving.
An hour ago before we left his house, the sky was dark & gloomy. The downpour gave Redbull an excuse to take cab down to Ikoi.

The dinner buffet starts at 530pm so many of us who reached earlier were waiting outside the restaurant.
WHY MUST FLAUNT YOUR MONEY?!
AGAIN?!
Seriously speaking, I don't get why some people take picture with their money, and when Redbull did it I was like "WHY?!" He ignored it and did it the second time as you can see. Urgh. *fist pump*
Finally in Ikoi! The tiny restaurant seemed even smaller with the amount of crowd.

While waiting for the food,

you can munch on these fresh veggies.

The first complimentary soup was so sweet & tasty! A pity stubborn Redbull insisted on not trying. His loss!

Mackerel: YUMMY!

Fried potato croquet: GOOD! Redbull said the mashed potato tasted like that of 7-11's which was a compliment.

Fried Pork Cutlet: NAH! Too bland.

Chicken Wings: NAH! Tasteless. I think they didn't marinate it at all.

Fried Tempura, squid & mushrooms: AVERAGE. Because I love mushrooms so I'll order it when I'm there again.

Sashimi: HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY! As seen in many reviews, almost all of the people said the sashimi is really worth a try. Thick & luscious! Only downside was that instead of being the first few dishes to be served (just like both the couples besides us), ours was delayed.

Many other dishes that we ordered but I was too indulged in eating that I forgot to snap a picture off,
Like,
Fried Fish Cake w Cheese: SIMPLE YET DELICIOUS!
Chawanmushi: NEUTRAL, never been a fan of it.
Salmon w Mayo Handroll: YUMMY.
Curry Beef w Rice: YUMMY. Redbull ordered 2 portions of this but he couldn't finish the second portion cause he was too full.
Bacon Wrapped Cocktail Sausage: Nothing can go wrong with this dish.
I reckon that's about all. Ikoi is known for its sashimi which really do live up to its name. It's definitely not the best & most fresh sashimi around, but having to pay only $38nett for this buffet & you get to enjoy this quality (of course quantity) of sashimi, it's really so worth the money! Value added! The rest of the ala carte dishes are delightful, but not surprisingly delicious. I'm heading down again with my 2 girlfriends next Saturday. Same place, same food, different lovely company.
Took a long bus ride from Havelock Road to Jurong East after our filling dinner. Just like he said, it has been a while since we took a long bus ride. Simple yet genuine moment like this is what it takes to make me fall in love with you all over again.

Tomorrow, I'm sitting for my second SAT exam and my fingers are crossed that this time round, my results will be very satisfactory. I've been revising endlessly and brushing up on the areas that I was weaker in and the results have been good thus far. Pray for it to remain the same, oh wait, for it to be better.
