"Not all who wander are lost."
Spending 2D1N at Malacca with Redbull & his family on my 'last' weekend before my school life began was a short breather. Too short to be honest but well the adults had to return to their hectic working life and youngsters like me had to report to school.
I love spending quality family time, be it with my own or his.
Set the alarm to the latest timing that I could afford, 530AM and we left his house at 6AM sharp. I thought we would definitely be the early birds at the custom but turned out we were welcomed by a line of traffic. So MANY others were more kiasu than we already were.

Early breakfast at a JB wanton noodle roadside stall and this Redbull randomly ordered a big pao which he left to feed the flies after eating one mouth of it. I had already warned him of the size of it, but I reckon it's the taste not the size that turned him off.
The comfort of being a passenger. we took power naps.

Snacks we bought to curb our hunger pangs during the car journey but turned out our stomachs were always cared for during the road trip. We only ate these when we came back to Sg.

The Church which was Redbull's family's main purpose of travelling to Malacca yearly.

They crowded over to buy giant candles.

The giant man with giant candles.

When the artist in you takes over, you go around doodling, and?
Arrested for vandalism.

The bully,

will get a taste of how it feels like being bullied.

Stopped over for teochew porridge before heading to The Jonker Walk. Their fried wanton and char siew are delicious.

Jonker Walk is a must visit site for all tourists I suppose because wherever I walked, I saw foreigners. I love strolling along the shophouses if not for the scorching hot sun that was out to burn all our asses.
Redbull's family's favorite shop to buy local goodies.

If you're a durian lover like Redbull & I, these durian puffs is a MUST-TRY.

"Put the whole puff in your mouth"
Listen to the expert's advice because the first time I had this 2 years ago, I tried to act like a demure lady and ended up looking just the opposite with the durian filling smeared all over my palm.

18 puffs finished in less than half an hour!

Durian chendol. Durian again? I skipped this chendol because I wanted to buy some snow ice but Redbull's uncle said this is nice, especially the gula melaka.

Mango snow ice with fresh fruit dices~

2PM. Finally time to check in to our hotel. What does dead beat people do when they reaches their hotel? Succumb to the temptation of hotel beds and start entering into their dreamland.
3 hours later, we were back at the church for the evening mass. This year round, we reached there much earlier so we got our precious seats. Still, beads of perspiration didn't let us off. The crowd was as expected. Sardine-packed crowd.

Dinner was crabs, crabs, crabs!
Then Redbull's uncle aka Malacca Walking Directory brought us to this ulu backlane that has a hidden eating place which was being introduced on some TV programme.

Despite the every laid back working and eating environments, it's packed. A pity I was too full from the crabs, otherwise I'd love to give it a try.

Checked out at 10AM and off we went. Before we left Malacca, dropped by Baba Charlie, a nyonya food stall which is a terrace house.

Reluctant faces that our short getaway was coming to an end. And also, the sun was causing our eyes to squint.

It's not the place that matters to me, it's the company. A company that is filled with warmth and love. Hopefully next year, Redbull & I would have no problem joining this yearly road trip. *Fingers crossed*
