Appearance; Plastic Surgeries

|| base neither your happiness nor confidence on your appearance, because appearance doesn't last; appearance isn't as trustworthy as your inner self ||

I've to learn to be less resilient towards surgeries despite I'm not for the idea of them. By which, I mean plastic surgeries.

Events and experiences approach me for a reason; to give a twist to my perspectives. By learning to place much less emphasis on appearances, I've grown to watch out for more purpose defining issues in this society. This society that seems to view beauty in so many different ways, and I must say that it's all these vast views of beauty which have somehow contributed to people wanting to go for plastic surgeries or have already undergone it. I mean, if you've never ever heard/seen anyone said/wrote the non-exhuastive list below, would you really have given a second thought about your own appearance?

1. Double eyelids are gorgeous;
2. Having big boobs is the greatest gift in life;
3. High nose bridge is what I'd call perfect;
4. Puffy lips are way sexier;
5. I love big butts & I cannot lie;
(This list can go on)

If no one criticizes anyone's appearance, if everyone genuinely makes everyone around them feel like they're definitely beautiful in their own ways, would anyone still be dissatisfied with how they look? My pov is that more often than not, our definitions of beauty has been outrageously influenced by what the society is portraying to us. Even our perspectives have to be puppets of others, what's there that's left of us which can be truly & solely determined by ourselves without any curtailment?
