Far far away, no.

The pasture is always greener on the other side. When I’m here in Sg, I complain about the queues that can be seen everywhere, about the deadly service charge & GST, about the conjested traffic, etc. Whereas during my short weekend to visit my grandma in Malaysia, I detest the polluted air, the fact that roadsides are treated like rubbish chutes, the always-on-alert-mode that I was in whenever I stepped out of the house due to being wary of pickpockets/perverts, the sad truth that buses aren't located conveniently and taxi seems to be the daily transportation mode for us, etc.
Anyway, there's now a straight bus from Jurong Point to Malaysia! *Squeals* The best benefit ever! Together with my mummy & sister, we set off to Malaysia on Friday evening. We alighted at Jusco and took a cab to my grandma's house.
Our Friday night dinner was BBQ. The preparation of the goodies took almost half an hour before we could start feasting. The whole time during the preparation, my sister & I were grumbling incessantly of our famished stomachs. The more, the merrier. Thank God the food was sufficient to feed all of us.
Late night paranormal stories told by my cousins with explicit details and other random conversations kept us up till 2am.
Saturday afternoon was spent at a neighbourhood shopping mall, Sutra Mall which sells your daily necessities to clothings. After looking close enough, I discovered a handful of shops which sells fashion clothings & shoes that caught my eyes. I'm considering to head back here next month.
No doubt that Malaysia's food has never fail to disappoint us. Every single time when I am here, patronizing this night food market aka pasar malam that we called 777 is a definite must. This pasar malam is nothing like those we find in Sg, those in Sg is a really a tiny dot compared to 777. Needless to mention, the food is sold at prices that are easy on the pocketbook as compared to those in Sg.
Being such regular customers to a stall which sells our favorite fried chicken, fried chicken leg, french fries, the beaming stall owners saw us from afar and waved us hellos. A familiar and heart-warming sight.
All the different types of freshly steamed buns~
Finally, my favorite Chendol stall! The last time I was here I didn't get to taste this. Only 2RM for a VERY HUGE packet! I only had half of the given portion, and my mummy finished the other half.
I love the serene moments I spent with my grandma & great grandma. They seem so untroubled, which is why I enjoy observing their little gentle yet stable movements, their priceless facial expressions. My grandma has been senile ever since my poly days. Though I've teared whenever I recalled the fact that she doesn't recognize me as her grand daughter anymore, I rejoice for the mere truth that perhaps she's happier this way, without any burdens, without having to worry for that few family dramas. As long as she's healthy, I can forget about how long it has been since she last called me her grand daughter.
I love you, grandma.
