A Best Friend I haven't seen in 10 months

Have you ever been physically separated from a dear one for so long that you're always fearing that one day your memory of her face will seemingly fade away? I have been miles away from Vicky for a good 10 months.  Miles apart, I have spent moments of solitary thinking about how is she leading a brand new lifestyle over at UK. Those who says distance doesn’t make a difference obviously hasn't get a taste of it before.

Vicky and her mum had seen me struggled through a rough patch during one of my poly years. Other than encouragements and advices that they showered on me, they made sure I was going to get out of the then dark tunnel just fine and emerged as a stronger and better person, which I believe I did.

Vicky is back to her homeland for about 2 weeks now and we finally met up yesterday! I swear there were definitely a few classic moments where I would be caught smiling sheepishly to myself while I knocked off from work and started to embark on the short journey to our meetup venue. At that point of time, mixture of feelings is the new simplicity; feeling anxious, excited and elated all at the same time has never felt this right.

The dinner, though a delight to my taste bud, was a Plain Jane as compared to the company I had who was sitting across the table. We allowed not a second to pass without us catching up on all that we had been missing out during the 10 months she was in UK, except for the moments where we had food in our mouths. Every moment is short-lived just like how time passes without any mercy. There is so much more for us to catch up that those few hours were simply insufficient!

This dear drama queen of mine has experienced a whole new lifestyle, been exposed to so many things, she's like a bird being freed from its cage enjoying its freedom. No doubt her lifestyle has changed drastically, but she hasn't changed. I still see the drama child in her, I still notice the familiar gestures she makes, I still see the spark in her eyes when she tastes a mouth of good food. Most importantly, I still feel her immensely strong love towards her family & this precious friendship of ours.

Next up would be,
1. Potluck at her house
2. Drinking session (Not at clubs or rowdy pubs please)
3. Girly stayover at her house
