Bangkok is a paradise indeed!

Time to reminisce my Bangkok trip! I've known my 2 girlfriends for 8 years and this is our first & definitely not the last getaway! Our flight departed on 8 Jun, which was 4 days before Wy's birthday. This getaway was a sudden plan which the birthday girl had suggested. Impromptu plan sent the 3 of us off in excitement! Enough of the pre-bangkok talk & lets get to business now!
I spent my Thursday & Friday with Redbull, intending to make up for the weekend that we were going to spend apart. He brought me to Al Azhar for my all-time favorite maggie goreng before we headed to Janice's house. So sweet of him to send me off~
Yummylicious! I will never get sick of eating this!
Our Janice got her car license and she was our INITIAL racer to the airport. However, her dad took over the wheels for some reasons.
BK before departure. I had a crazy time laughing like a mad woman with Redbull 'feeding' us his nonsensical stories and my stomach ached from all the laughing. What a good exercise for the abs.

She lent me 'Cry Silent Tears' to occupy my eyes during the flight which I only managed to cover a few chapters before dozing off. I managed to finish this book after I came back from Bangkok. This true story tugged at the corners of my heart and a dark shield of sadness loomed within me. How can people be so cruel, especially to their loved ones? How do these abused people walk out from their living nightmares & emerge as a better person? I can't grasp it, because all these 'how' and 'why' are too much for my mind to apprehend, for my heart to bear.

Happy face when we touched down at The Land of Smiles!

The last skytrain was at 1150PM, which we obviously couldn't make it because we only went through the departure gate around the same timing. So well, thank God getting a taxi from the airport was not a hassle at all, plus we weren't caught in the traffic jam as it was already past midnight. Travelling around Bangkok in a cab is a definite no unless it's midnight or the wee hours in the morning because other than that, the traffic jam is massively CRAZY!
Our Blutique!

As the name of this boutique suggests, the room is blue (BLUtique) in color, emitting the oceanic feel.

Our boutique is located very near the Baiyoke Sky Tower, which means Pratunam Night Market is just right at our door step! We dropped our bags and ventured around the area for some midnight food.

Chewy and tasty bbq pork meatballs.

Girls are girls.

The plan for Saturday was Chatuchak!!!

Spot the dog.

On our way to BTS to take the train to Chatuchak.

Crowd, crowd and more crowd. A queuing sight which we don't get to see in Singapore. In Sg, people will come from all directions to tap their way out.

Not many photos were taken at Chatuchak as we were all too occupied with shopping, perspiring and squeezing with the crowd.
Stopped for some cold drinks and ice-cream. This frozen banana coated with chocolated and glazed with peanuts is a must have given the hot weather!

Wy with her cramped facial expression and the sweet chilled orange juice.

Our feet were screaming SOS and we were almost done with our buys so it was time to settle our hunger pangs.

Superb delicious beef balls noodles! MUST HAVE LA!

Looks like a painting.

We headed back to our boutique straight from Chatuchak because our shoulders couldn't take the weight of our bags anymore.

But of course we were never too tired to fill our stomachs! So glad that we chose Blutique which is just right infront of the night market.
Giant squids!

Thai Pancake, this is what I named it. Ever since I tried this at Phuket with my family, I kept a lookout for it whenever I'm at Thailand.

Hard boiled egg whose 'insides' looks and tastes like steamed egg. We've never seen this in Sg before!

Rewarded our feet with a foot massage right beside Blutique! One hour session which costs only 200Bhat! Less than $10! We can never find this in Sg!

Fat and juicy chilled lychees.

Sunday: Platinum Mall, last day in Bangkok.
Had our breakfast at Blu Cafe which serves traditional indian food. According to the menu, it seems like Indians fry their friends! HAHAHA!

"Will they fry us?"

Another day of shopping! And I finally got to eat the yummy waffles at the food court again!

After one entire day of shopping at Platinum, we wanted to go to the chicken rice roadside stall just opposite the mall because the previous time I came with my family, I had the most delicious chicken rice there. However, not a single food stall was in sight! WHERE DID YOU GO, CHICKEN RICE?
Well, we decided to head back to the boutique and laid down all our buys before venturing down to the night market again. Never sick of the night market!

Fresh bbq fish with sweet and succulent meat.

Dining at the comfort of our room.

Since it was our last night in Bangkok, we decided to take our all our loots and snap a picture of it for memory sake.

Then I decided to dress my pillow up.
"Don't cha wish your pillow was hot like me? Don't cha?"

"I believe I can fly~"

That was all for our first getaway. Staying knitted together in a foreign place has definitely made our friendship a stronger one. Bangkok really feels more like a paradise with them around.
